AFRA board of directors |

During the AFRA 2010 Annual Meeting, Derk-Jan van Heerden, General Manager of AELS, was elected to the the AFRA board of directors, in a members' confidential ballot.
Derk-Jan will actively contribute to the development of policies and strategies which aim to consolidate AFRA's role as the leading global organisation promoting environmentally responsible aircraft disassembly and dismantling. He will work in cooperation with his fellow board members from a host of leading companies including Rolls Royce, The Boeing Company, P3 Aviation and Volvo Aero.

Jetstream 31 project finished |

AELS finished a special project for the University of Glamorgan. AELS disassembled, transported and re-assembled a Jetstream J31 from Eindhoven airport to Pontypridd in South Wales. Read more here.

AviTrader MRO |

AFRA Accredited |

AELS
processes have been accredited and approved by AFRA. The
AFRA BMP guide that forms the basis of this accreditation is the most
up-to-date collection of recommendations concerning best practices for the
management of parts removed from aircraft during disassembly as an airframe
reaches the end of its service life. More on AELS' accreditations can be

Ilyusin Il-18 Hotel Opens |

On the 4th of December the most luxurious
aircraft hotel of the world will open in the Netherlands. The hotel suite is
built in an Ilyusin IL-18 aircraft and located at Teuge Airport.
The single room hotel has all luxury one can wish, such as a sauna and jacuzzi.
If you are interested you can book a night at the hotel at Hotelsuites.nl, the owner of the aircraft.
AELS was part of the team that made the hotel possible. AELS has been part of the project since it started in 2006 with purchasing the aircraft. The complete process of disassembly, transport and assembly including the rebuilding has been a successful project. The end result is fantastic and AELS is proud to be part of the team that made this all possible.

As of today AELS is offering the aviation industry an environmentally friendly solution for aircraft components. This new service is offered in cooperation with Recylux near Maastricht Aachen Airport. With this service AELS will provide aviation maintenance companies with a guaranteed destruction of, and optimal revenue from unsalvageable components. This process with maximum green recycling of materials is named MRO End-of-Life. The co-operation between Recylux and AELS has been sealed during the Paris Air Show by singing an agreement.

2009 Paris Air Show |

AELS will be exhibiting at the 2009 Paris Air Show. The show will take place from June 15 until June 21 at Airport Le Bourget, Paris, France. You can find us in Hall 2B Stand G57 as part of the Dutch Pavilion.
AELS will also launch a new service during the Paris Air Show . If you want to know what this new service is, visit us on Tuesday the 16th in the afternoon around 15:00. There will be champagne!
