Dutch financial newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad (FD) published a short interview with Derk-Jan van Heerden in the entrepreneur section of the paper, asking questions about what distinguishes AELS and what the biggest challenge is in recycling aircraft. AELS recycles aircraft for EADS EFW |

AELS
is disassembling and dismantling an Airbus A310-300 aircraft for EADS
EFW in Dresden, Germany.The aircraft is owned by EADS EFW and has serial
number 654. It used to be operated as a passenger aircraft in Asia. It
was flown to Dresden to be converted into a freighter aircraft, which it
is no longer suitable for.
The project will be executed under AELS management and in compliance
with its AFRA accreditation. The environmentally friendly Total
End-of-Life Solution that AELS is providing to EADS EFW includes the
dismantling of the airframe and recycling of the leftover materials such
as aluminum. In addition AELS will recertify, market and sell the
components of the aircraft for re-use on other aircraft.

AELS was
contracted to execute a Total End-of-Life Solution on a Boeing 747-200
Freighter by Kellstrom Industries. The ex-Cargo B aircraft was
disassembled in Belgium at Brussels, Zaventem.
