Dear Reader,

Last two months many things happened. AELS was an exhibitor on the MRO Europe Exhibition in the RAI Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The extranet part of the website is finished; to celebrate this we gave it a new name 'myAELS'. The most important news is, however, that AELS joined AFRA. Read more about this in the newsletter below or on our website.

Best regards

Derk-Jan van Heerden

AELS joins AFRA

AELS is very pleased to announce our membership of AFRA. AFRA, Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association, is a global organization formed to improve aircraft retirement practices. The Boeing Company initiated the founding of the association, which was formalised June first, 2006. AELS is looking forward to cooperate with other members in developing new technologies and procedures to improve end-of-life strategies all over the world. We believe that our membership reflects the trust of other members in our qualities and our positive contribution in reaching the AFRA goals.

Recycling Embraer 120

AELS is currently working on a project at Siegerland Airport in Germany. AELS will arrange the recycling of an Embraer 120, that was parked on the airport for a few years. AELS is hired by Allegiance Air to arrange this.

AELS is using this project to test new recycle technologies in cooperation with Synvase. The goal of this project is to determine interesting technologies, which will make it possible to acquire a higher recycle rate than possible with standard technologies. A higher recycle rate is of course directly linked to a lower environmental impact, one of the continuous points of attention of AELS.

myAELS

The extranet of AELS is tested for its last bugs and labeled operational the beginning of October. To celebrate this moment the extranet got its name, "myAELS". myAELS is used for the communication with our partners and the maintenance of our network. AELS would like to address special thanks to Albert Skibinski of Merge who built myAELS.

If you want to be part of AELS' network subscribe for your personal myAELS account here.
