December 2007
Dear Reader
Let us first take this opportunity to wish you the best for 2008. If you didn't receive our season's greetings already you can find them here. The pictures used for this year's card were made during the AELS Christmas dinner at "Stadsherberg De Mol", a medieval theme restaurant in the centre of Delft.
One of the events of last two months was the opening of the new aircraft souvenir shop at Schiphol. Also some articles were published about AELS. Next to this a new research project was started in cooperation with the Erasmus University Rotterdam for which we ask your special attention. You can read more about these items below.
February 4th a mini symposium will be organised by the Delft University of Technology in cooperation with the Erasmus University Rotterdam and AELS. The title of the symposium is:
"Creating sustainability by closing the supply chain loop in the aviation sector"
If you want to receive an invitation and a program please let us know by sending an e-mail.
Again the best for 2008!
Best regards,
The AELS Team
Planes@Plaza Story
At Schiphol Airport a new aircraft souvenirs shop opened on the 14th of November. It has become the eye-catcher of Schiphol Plaza. AELS arranged the purchase and transport of the items used to create this beautiful location and assisted in the rebuilding of the DC9 nose section and the DC10 landing gear and engine cowl. You can read the complete story on our website.
Consumer perspective
After the successfull cooperation with AELS on EPR in the aviation sector the Erasmus University Rotterdam is investigating the consumer perspective of end-of-life aircraft. For this research an online questionnaire has been made. You are kindly asked to help Mireille Moleveld with her research by completing a questionnaire. Please note that the questionnaire is focused on the Netherlands and therefore made in Dutch. There is no English translation available. The results of this research are expected April 2008.
AELS in the news
Three articles were published on AELS, all in Dutch magazines. One in the Recycling Magazine Benelux, the other in Aluminium and the last in Piloot en Vliegtuig (Pilot and Aircraft).
