In June 2014 AELS completed the dismantling of a Boeing 747-200 MSN 22254. The project was requested by Luxembourg Findel Airport authorities.
AELS purchased their first A320 from GOAL, German Operating Aircraft Leasing GmbH & Co. KG (GOAL), together with engine partner AeroDirect.
This 22 year old aircraft started flying with Air France (F-GJNC). AELS bought this aircraft with external financing. The initial plan was to ferry fly this aircraft to Woensdrecht. Due to a variety of reasons, however, AELS acquired this aircraft in South Africa.
This aircraft was the first aircraft AELS bought with external financing. The aircraft was first operated by Air France (F-GJND) when it started flying in 1991. In 2007 Air Namibia started operating the aircraft after it was bought by lessor Capex Leasing.
This aircraft, which was last operated in Indonesia by Mandala, was flown to Woensdrecht by the lessor Aercap. AELS disassembled and dismantled the aircraft for FL Technic, who bought it from Aercap.
The first flight of this aircraft was in 1986, which makes the aircraft 27 years old. The aircraft arrived in Woensdrecht on March 28th, 2013. The aircraft was filled with components that AELS also was contracted to remarket.
AELS is offering all components from a Boeing 737-500 that was recently bought. On the 16th of January the Boeing 737-500 landed on Woensdrecht Airport.
